Schema Inspector
SQL Server synchronization and SQL script tool
Atlantis Schema Inspector is an incredibly fast, flexible and complete SQL Server
synchronization and SQL Script tool - use it to get your deployments right first time, every time.
Schema Inspector offers an easy and fast way to compare and synchronize schema elements
of SQL Server databases whether live, test, snapshots or partial databases. Any changes can be checked
speedily and easily without errors. It can save your development team lots of time and help you achieve
your project delivery accurately and on time. Schema Inspector works in tandem with our Data Inspector
and both combine with our SQL Everywhere to make a uniquely integrated “one stop” solution
for all SQL developers and administrators alike.
You can confidently use Schema Inspector and Data Inspector to save hours of development time whether developing new SQL
Server databases or migrating old systems over to new. The savings in development time will make a significant
contribution to the ensuring your project will deliver solutions to your users on-time and
on-budget. SQL Script can be a notoriously difficult way in which to perform SQL Server
synchronization - Schema Inspector relieves the difficulties associated with your deployments.
Features include:
- Synchronization can be performed directly on the database, or via script,
or in Hybrid mode which performs the direct synchronization and outputs a script.
- SQL Server synchronization comparison scenarios allow the user to set up stored comparisons which can be
repeated at any time in the future. Options specific to each comparison scenario are
stored with the comparison scenario itself.
- Objects can be filtered using advanced recursive filters, allowing the use to
specify a subset of objects for synchronization or scripting with accuracy and ease.
- All database objects supported by the three editions of SQL Server may be
synchronized from any version to any version. When downgrading, users are warned about
any feature usage that would not be supported by the target SQL Server version.
Advanced features:
- Scripting of these object types is available in the Professional edition of
Schema Inspector, allowing user full SQL Server synchronization functionality.
- Snapshots can be created of databases, and the comparison may be run against those snapshots,
such that comparison scenarios can be run without connectivity to the live production environment. You can even generate the full SQL Script of a database from it's snapshot.
- The snapshot tool allows database administrators to take a snapshot of a schema at any point in
time, which can then be transferred elsewhere such that the snapshot database schema can be compared
against or re-created.
Future features:
- Generate ‘migrations’ from your schema comparisons, which are a set of commands
which ‘migrate’ from one database version to another. Store these migrations in source control.
- Edit migrations to change the order of sql script execution, or add data manipulation statements
in order to allow you to fully upgrade and downgrade customer databases with confidence & ease.
- Royalty-free migration runtime allows you to deploy migrations with your setup and
upgrade packages simply and easily.
- Use the Schema Inspector API to compare, synchronize, navigate and script your databases
from within your code, performing custom actions along the way or even running complete SQL Server synchronization processes.
